Back to Bangalore

Once again I am traveling to Bangalore, Karnataka in southern India as a program assistant with a UW study abroad program. My bags aren't packed yet, but I've begun compiling my mental list of vital items (ShamWow!).

This year all of the students in the program participated in a quarter-long class in Spring, giving us the opportunity to get to know each other and begin our work here in Seattle. A strong intellectual and collegial foundation has been laid, and I cannot wait to continue our work in Bangalore. We will be meeting with and learning from various NGOs in the city who focus on social justice work. We will also be exploring the idea of what it means to do humane scholarship. And we'll be eating.

Pedagogy and food -- what more does one need?
